Boston Terrier Kennel FCI 4321
The Boston Terrier is a lively little companion recognized by his tight tuxedo jacket, sporty but compact body, and the friendly glow in his big, round eyes. His impeccable manners have earned him the nickname ‘The American Gentleman.’
Bostonians go along well with children, and they're not so tiny that they can't live in a household with a toddler.
If you want an outdoor dog who can be left alone for long periods of time, Boston Terrier is not the breed for you.
Boston Terriers make excellent watchdogs and will alert their people of approaching strangers, but it's not their style to bark without cause.
Boston Terriers do not need a lot of exercise, but they do need daily walks to keep them at a healthy weight. However, if you want you can take them for a hike or a swim, they have good stamina.
I like all humans and dogs, well, maybe humans a little more. Also, I am super smart! Even my expression shows it. Ha! I can learn a ton of commands and be a good dog (if I want to). Right now, I can sit, lay down, wait (for a really, really long time) and my favorite, fetch. I fetch like a pro. I can do it all day too, if necessary.
Protecting the Boston Terrier’s beautiful but prominent eyes is of special importance. Responsible breeders are attentive to eye problems such as cataracts and patellar luxation (comparable to a “trick knee” in humans). Like all flat-faced breeds, Bostons can experience difficulty breathing, so make sure you provide adequate shelter from excessive heat or humidity.
Brush their coat as needed, at least weekly. Their facial and tail-base folds should be kept clean and dry to prevent infections. Boston Terriers generally have good teeth, and you can keep them perfect by brushing them at least twice a week! Clean their ears weekly, even as a puppy.
Recommended daily amount: 2 coffee cups of high-quality dry food a day, divided into two meals. As every dog is unique, there are plenty of dog food varieties to choose from these days. You can even prepare home made food for your puppy.
Boston Terriers are fairly easy to groom and need only an occasional brushing to keep their coat healthy. They are average shedders. Begin grooming your Bostonian at a young age and teach your puppy to stand on a table or floor to make this experience easier for both of you.
